23 Resources and extra support!

24 TechHire Clackamas is a grant program that’s focused on providing adaptive solutions for young adults age 17 – 29 who are looking for training, education, and funding for success in the manufacturing, technology, and engineering industries.

25 Our WHY: To train and educate a young workforce that will be successful and sustainable in the manufacturing, tech, and engineering industries. Our WHAT: Our program offers a wide range of programs including a CNC Operator certificate training, CPT training, apprenticeship, an Industrial Maintenance degree program, subsidized classes, and tuition assistance packages. Our HOW: We are working with our college’s Workforce Department, local employers, youth-centered non-profits, faculty at the college, and our local employment offices to create solutions for youth.

26 Sustaining Our Program
CNC Operator Certificate This program was developed after hearing the hiring needs of our local manufacturing employers. After hearing that our college’s manual machining program was just not enough to get into numerous manufacturing positions in the area, this course was developed to provide certificates to those looking for work in an accelerated teaching environment. Tuition Assistance Program Our tuition assistance program will allow career-ready technical experts to enter their fields of study upon graduation. The assistance is focused on degrees and certificates that lead to occupations that have long term demand, offer potential for high wages, and support local sourcing and innovation.

27 Action Plan for TechHire Clackamas
Continue to provide and sustain the CNC Operator Certificate course at the college, and open enrollment to the public. Develop strategies to integrate an apprenticeship program in our local area that is accessible for participants. Find impactful and intentional ways to promote our tuition assistance to youth and young adults who are in need and/or facing barriers to education
