Please find below a list of resources to help you support your child with their learning. Science Make flashcards on the scientific vocabulary you have learnt this year. Use BBC Bitesize & Sam Learning regularly. Use Sam Learning regularly. Mathematics Revise and learn timetables up to 12x12. Go over work done on Fractions, Decimals and Percentages. Use Mathswatch online tutor to support learning of challenging topics (Grade 1-4). Complete Mathswatch Summer intervention homework. Purchase GCSE 9-1 Maths Target books. Two books covering all topics for £4. Begin to look at and attempt to complete Past exam Maths 9-1 papers on Mathsgenie.co.uk. English Read recommended texts from the KS3 Reading List. This can be found on the VLE/English Department. Create a vocabulary booklet with new words and definitions that you discover while reading. Languages – French / Spanish Log on to Linguascope to play language games Username: Kingsford1 Password: bravo! Log on to to revise all the vocabulary for this year: search L_Springett for FRENCH and KPadwickGraham for SPANISH Log on to Rosetta Stone Username: (your school computer log on) Password: kingsford Languages- Mandarin Log on GoChinese to finish all the lessons and exercises content of Supplementary Resources for Jinbu 1 and Jinbu 2. Make flashcards on the vocabulary of GCSE Vocabulary list (Adexcel) (NEW) ‘B2 Identity and Culture- What my family and friends are like’ on GoChinese. Design & Technology Practise isometric drawing and rendering (three tone shading). Research different materials. BBC Bitesize. SAM learning. Art Visit Galleries and Museums to get a list of artist/art works that you like Practice drawing from observation Take your own pictures and experiment with lighting and composition Food Technology Plan and practise cooking different dishes at home Research different ingredients – fibres/proteins/carbs etc. BBC Bitesize SAM learning Drama Watch live theatre performance (at theatre or using NT Live in cinemas) Complete SAM learning Drama asks to practice key terminology Involvement in summer school/Saturday drama classes. PE Join a sports club. Revise the body systems (cardiovascular, respiratory, Muscular and Skeletal). Music Practice instrument/singing. Use of SAM learning to practice key terminology. Attend live music performances (not Popular music! Orchestral concerts etc).
