Schema for measurement of Doppler intervals. Myocardial performance index (MPI) is defined as the sum of isovolumic contraction time (ICT) and isovolumic relaxation time (IRT) divided by ejection time (ET). The sum of ICT and IRT is equal to the difference between the interval from cessation to onset of the mitral inflow (MCO) and ET.
