2 NBEL Program Objects To establish a sound technical basis for biofuel that will assist in setting ASTM specifications for 20% biodiesel fuel. To gain a comprehensive understanding of composition-property-performance relationships for biofuels and through that basis to develop the next-generation of biodiesel with acceptable performance, cold flow and stability properties.

3 NBEL Projects Effects of Composition on Oxidative Stability of Biodiesel and Blends Catalytic Effects of Transition Metals on the Oxidative Stability of Various Biodiesels Insolubles Formation in Soy-, Cottonseed-, and Poultry Fat-Biodiesel Blends observed after Low Temperature Storage Development of Anionic Resin Exchange Catalysts for Biodiesel Production Quality Survey of Retail Biodiesel Blends on Michigan Market Effect Of Major And Minor Components Of Biodiesel On The Lubricity Of Petroleum And Synthetic Fuel Investigation Of The Parameters Affecting Cetane Number Of Biodiesel
