2 (Excited) Her eyes were as glittery as the little mirrors on her skirt. (P. 32)

3 (Embarrassed) Dad went red. (P. 19) My eyes went all watery. (P. 31) (Note: 1st person description)

4 (Upset/sad/troubled) He seemed all sad and scowly. Maybe hed had a row with Miss Morgan. (P. 31)

5 (Disappointed) Dad looked like Id thrown a bucket of cold water all over him. (P. 21)

6 Recap: The phrases/words in blue show a characters emotions/feelings in an interesting/creative way. The emotions of feelings are told in 3rd person narrative (Hollys voice). (maybe thats why shes not very sure and so she uses seemed, looked like?)

7 Describing appearance: 1.Miss Morgan is as pretty as a princess. (P. 18)

8 Describing appearance: 2. She (Miss Morgan) doesnt look a bit like a teacher. Shes got long hair way past her shoulders and she wears long dresses too, all bright and embroidered, and she has these purple suede pointy boots with high heels. She looks as if shes stepped straight out of my fairy-story book. (P. 15) (an elegant image?)

9 Describing appearance: 3. Dad (Samanthas) looks like a film star, he really does, with lovely blond hair and deep blue eyes and hes really fit too because he works out and plays a lot of sport. (P. 85)

10 Recap: What have we learnt in this activity? 3rd person narrative: to see a character from the eyes of others. How to describe a characters emotions and appearance in more interesting/creative way.
