10. Bleeding, what to do… 1. Clean the wound
2. Cover the wound with a sterile cloth.
3. Apply direct pressure.

5. If an object is embedded in the skin, do not remove it. Go to the doctor.

11. Burns 1. Cool the area by placing it under cold water.
2. Apply ice to relieve the pain.
3. If the injured area is bigger than a quarter, seek medical assistance.

12. Poisoning 1. Call 911 or the Poison Control Centre (613) 737-1100.
2. Identify the type of poison.
3. Follow treatment instructions on label and by medical personnel.

19. CPR 1. Call for help (911). 2. Roll the person onto their back.
4. Open the person’s airway.
5. Check to see if the person is breathing. (5 seconds)
6. No breathing – Start chest compressions
30 compressions to 2 breaths

20. CPR
1. Pinch the person’s nose. One hand on forehead the other on the chin
2. Give two full breaths.
3. Continue giving chest compressions
30 compression to 2 breaths
4. Continue CPR until the ambulance arrives.

21. Child CPR 1. Give CPR for about one minutes before calling 911.
2. Give 2 breaths for every 30 chest compressions
4. Continue CPR until emergency medical help arrives.

22. CPR - Infant Be careful not to tilt the head back too far
Cover both the mouth and the nose with your mouth and breathe slowly using enough volume and pressure to make the chest rise.
Give CPR for one minutes before calling 911.
Use only the tips of the middle and ring fingers of one hand to compress the chest at the sternum
2 breaths for every 30 chest compressions
Continue CPR until emergency medical help arrives.
