Biography of the Presenters:
Helpful Hints for Immigrants Biography of the Presenters: Katherine Fourmy: Katie Fourmy is an immigration attorney at Northern Virginia Family Service where she represents vulnerable immigrant populations in humanitarian and family-based cases in Immigration Court, Virginia Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court, and before United States Citizenship and Immigration Service. She focuses much of her time fighting for asylum for clients in NVFS’s Program for Survivors of Torture and Trauma. She received her law degree from Georgetown University Law Center, and undergraduate degree from the University of Arkansas. Katie is bilingual in English and Spanish, and is a member of the bars of Virginia and Washington, D.C. Nicholas Marritz: Nick Marritz is a staff attorney with the Legal Aid Justice Center (LAJC) Immigrant Advocacy Program. He practices employment law and immigration law on behalf of Northern Virginia’s low-wage workers, as well as isolated immigrant workers throughout the Commonwealth. He holds a B.A. from the University of Pittsburgh and a law degree from the University of Washington, where he was a William H. Gates Public Service Law Scholar. Prior to joining LAJC, Nick was a litigation attorney with Farmworker Justice in Washington, D.C. Can’t Make it?
