Working together There are currently 37 schools in the Trust made up of secondary and primary schools The Trust encourages schools to work together to maximise the skills and expertise of all its staff and where suitable create opportunities for career development and promotion within the family Students and staff can benefit from being part of the family through collaborative working, enrichment opportunities, sharing best practice and of course economy of scale

Trade Union Recognition
Ormiston Academies Trust recognises the following professional associations/trade unions Unison, Unite, GMB, NUT, NASUWT, NAHT, ASCL, ATL We have a Joint Consultative Committee and Union Recognition Agreement that provides opportunity to inform and consult with the unions on behalf of all OAT academies, these meetings take place at the central offices in Birmingham.

Preparation Ongoing communication with academy stakeholders Academy presentation(s) to staff and TUs, with TUPE element Engage with staff through one-to-one meetings, bulletins and helpline Communication meeting(s) with TUs on TUPE matters Regular communication with the existing schools Information and communication Consultation on organisational changes, if any are proposed Staff representation opportunities to Ormiston Letters to staff confirming their position at the academy Addressing outstanding TUPE related matters Implementation and pre-opening

TUPE protection Regulations in place to protect employees transferring from one employer to another The objective is to preserve your terms and conditions where TUPE applies There are no measures

Pensions protection All staff who transfer to the new academy will continue to be active members of the Local Government Pension Scheme or Teachers’ Pensions Scheme
