College Updates August/September College Tips:
Write drafts of Personal Statements Sign up for SAT/ACT exams Prepare for SAT/ACT Research private college deadlines Search for scholarships Go to Belmont if you need adult school classes!

College Updates Aug./Sept. Important Dates:
9/6: SAT Registration Deadline (for 10/6 Exam) Deadline for Film Competition (“Short and Strong,” $2000 Scholarship)

College Updates Private colleges have different deadlines - you need to research them (from October April 2014). ACT vs. SAT - pick one ACT Deadline for 9/21 test has passed :( SAT free for 3 schools ACT $10 per school (most of our students do well on this test) Students need to know which schools they’re applying to

College Updates Application Deadlines: CSU: Oct. 1 - Nov. 30
UC: Nov. 1 - Nov. 30 $ Waivers for application available GPA Requirements: CSU’s need 2.0 (3.0+ recommended) UC’s need 3.0 (3.5+ recommended)

A - Tution/Fees: UC (up to $12,192), CSU ($5,472), Privates (up to $9,084), other Career Colleges (up to $4,000) B - Living assistance/Tution/Fees: $1,473 C - $547 for books, additional $2,462 You must complete the FAFSA (Jan. 1 - March 2) Check out scholarships in the meantime online!
