4. Roman Emperor Constantine a. Edict of Milan 313 AD -accept Christianity in Roman Empire 5. Emperor Theodosius 395AD a. Christianity = official religion of Rome -Roman Catholic Church Chi Rho, the first two letters of Jesus Christ in Greek, which Constantine saw in a vision along with the words "in hoc signo vinces" ("in this sign you will conquer").
