What you need from the Health System Perspective:
Purpose The “why” of the project Purpose and historical relationships Leadership We needed Health System CEO level and “right hand” people Structure Work group structures are important, both who is on them, and what you chose to work on Communications group was key Policy group mattered Evaluation discussion from the beginning Purpose: This impacts the most vulnerable in our community. While we compete on many fronts, we’ve learned to collaborate for this population. Health System leaders sitting on the Board of CCC, CCC CEO sits on Boards that other System Execs sit on (eg. of HealthShare). We understand each others work.

Communication Respecting partnership above individual organization’s PR Taking the opportunity to educate community leaders about role of health systems in CB It is about serving the community Funding: Community Benefit Needs to line up with the health systems identified needs (Community Health Needs Assessment) A departure from our history of focus on “program” support to capital support Catholic Health Association’s 2015 Guide for Planning & Reporting Community Benefit, Providence “shall not retain any financial interest in these assets, and that this award in no way represents a loan or advance”.
