AVERAGE ISSUE READERSHIP ON AN UPWARD TREND 453,000 Kiwis read the NZ Herald on a typical day 806,000 Kiwis read the NZ Herald over a week AIR the same as Previous Release AIR Up 33,000 readers (+8%) vs Year Ago Weekly coverage is the same as the last period. 453,000 is about the same as the Wellington Regional Council population. DAILY BRAND AUDIENCE STILL OVER A MILLION Daily brand audience 1,050,000 +5% year on year Weekly brand audience 1,669,000 +7% year on year Been above a million daily brand for five releases now. THE NZH STILL THE NUMBER ONE MET IN THE COUNTRY Dom Post has declined slightly since last period, while The Press and ODT remain unchanged. The Press has now got a larger readership than the Dom Post and YOY has increased their readership by 1% The story here is that we’re bucking the overall METS trend, all of these are showing a long-term decline in readership. NZ Herald on the other hand, is trending upward and has seen increases year on year. The Press is now ahead of Dom Post. Source: Nielsen CMI Q – Q AP15+
