Fall 2013 Initiated New Diversity Council (now Equity and Inclusion Council) Initiated three “Learning Circles” - Employee Engagement, Multicultural Recruitment, and Student Success Established an intentional approach to the success of Students of Color Incorporated meaningful/ongoing equity and inclusion training at all faculty/staff in-services Relaunched the Multicultural Student Leadership Association – weekly meetings and the sharing of a monthly event series on Cultural Competency This will be Harold’s slide about what they did beginning in 2013 to address this

Presented anecdotal perspectives on closing the opportunity gap at the ASA conference Diversity Officer in collaboration with the system's Equity Inclusion Office presented at DCTC's in-service Partnership developed with Institutional Research to implement a quantitative and qualitative study to better understand gaps in student outcomes Study completed and findings are being disseminated Initial findings shared with Faculty Shared Governance and Faculty Department Chairs

FY 2019 Piloting an equity-minded mentoring pilot program (staff, faculty, and administrators) Pairing at-risk students with faculty/staff mentors Monthly meetings of all mentors/mentees around a success topic Created Equity/Inclusion Committee at DCTC

As a part of its Program Efficiency process, a new metric being tracked at DCTC is the course success (A, B, C, P) ratio of SOC to White students by program/subject. wendy

The research plan for this data was adapted from the Equity Policy Institute (October 2017 at St. Paul College) and from the Chief Diversity Officer retreat (November 2017)
