*Parents: Make sure any money you send for snack money, etc… is labeled and in a Ziploc bag or envelope.
*Please make sure your child has a change of clothes in their book bag at all times – I will keep their extra clothes in their book bag, not at school.
*When your child is absent please remember to send in a Doctor’s excuse or parent excuse. If not, it will be counted as and unexcused absence. Remember no more than 10 parent notes are accepted and 7 unexcused absences means your child is truant. See Student Code of Conduct, pg. 8 for more detailed information on attendance. Please make sure your child is at school unless they are sick. Thank you for your help with this.
*Don’t forget to work each night in the Homework Binder with your child. Just 15 minutes makes a big difference.
*Reading – This week we will be learning how to write upper and lowercase Tt and learn what sound the letter Ii makes (/i/ as in insect); Our sight words this week are the words “to,” “big,” and “him.”
*Math – We will continue our Chapter on numbers 0-5. Practice writing numbers 0-5 at home this week. Do not forget to practice counting Students will be assessed on this for the first 9 weeks report card.
*Science – Students will be able to recognize that plant seedlings share certain characteristics; understand that plants have roots, stems, and leaves; become aware that plants go through life cycles; and note that some characteristics differ between seedlings of different types.
 *Social Studies – Our learning target this week in Social Studies is students can learn about jobs people do. Students can also learn about and explore different jobs people do in our community. *Community helpers day that was cancelled due to hurricane Irma will be held Monday, September 25. Talk to your child about the different community helpers they saw and learned about. .
*September 28 – PTO 6:00 and Fundraiser Kick-off – please look for info. in your child’s book bag
