Critical Control 1 AN APPOINTED PERSON IS IN PLACE
An Appointed Person was originally a UK requirement that has been transferred to our Australia and HK operations. Whilst it is not required in legislation LOR maintain a specific requirement and qualification for this role. Insert here project specific name, photo and specific competencies held for AP and deputy.

Critical Control 2 A CRANE SUPERVISOR IS APPOINTED
A Crane Supervisor is a UK term which has been transferred to the Australia hub. Whilst it is not required in legislation LOR maintain a specific requirement and qualification for this role. Insert here project specific name, photo and specific competencies held for Crane Supervisors and any deputies.

Critical Control 3 A CRANE LIFT PLAN IS IN PLACE
Crane Lift Plan for individual lifts is comprehensive and approved. A project specific schedule of common lifts must be in place as part of the overarching Lift Operations Plan for all non high risk lifts.

Critical Control 4 A COMMISSIONING REPORT IS IN PLACE FOR TOWER CRANES

Critical Control 5 PERSONNEL INVOLVED IN LIFTING OPERATIONS ARE TRAINED AND COMPETENT

Critical Control 6 TEMPORARY WORKS, STABILITY AND GROUND-BEARING PRESSURE AND VERIFIED FOR CRANE USE (INCLUDING SUSPENDED SLABS / FLOORS) At a project level you would want to know that the ground conditions are sufficient and that the crane is set up in accordance with the lift study – ask Crane Supervisor The TWC should be able to demonstrate through the Temporary Works Register.

Critical Control 10 SOFT SLINGS ARE NOT IN USE
Soft slings are not to be used at any Laing O’Rourke workplaces as of the 1 November 2017. Extensive consultation was completed following a number of events involving synthetic slings that has resulted in the discontinued use.
