4 Forming the perfect tense
Three perfect tenses – present perfect, past perfect, and future perfect. The three perfect tenses are made up of the helping verb to have and the past participle.

5 Present Perfect Use the present perfect tense to express an action that took place at an indefinite time in the past. It may still be going on. Example: Dr. Jiri has conducted the research.

6 Past Perfect Use the past perfect tense for an action in the past that was completed before another action took place. Dr. Jiri had conducted the research before the year ended.

7 Future Perfect Use the future perfect tense for an action that will be completed before another action in the future. Dr. Jiri will have conducted the research before the year ends.
