Quick DC Highlights Visit to all the major monuments in Washington DC.
Visit to the White House (Photo) Visit the Holocaust Museum Visit Arlington National Cemetery Changing of the Guard Visit the Capitol (Optional Tour) Visit the National Mall and all the major museums American History, African American History Museum (possibly), Natural History… Dinner Cruise on the Potomac River at night (Friday 3/16) Visit Mount Vernon

Checklist to join us in DC
$100 deposit for student (due October 25, 2017) Total trip cost is $575 for Students, $720 for Parent Chaperones in a double room, and $980 for Parents in a single room UCPS Field Trip Permission form/Emergency Contact Form filled out and turned into S.S. Teacher. (Double Sided) – Bright blue form If your child requires medicine, get the medical consent form to Mr. Sams and he will organize forms for the school nurse to look over. – light green form or light pink form

Important Info Students/Teacher ratio is 1:10 or less
Students will have the opportunity to select their own roommates (Them + 3 other friends) They will choose groups in early December Students will always be with those people Student groups will then be joined with other groups while touring Deposits and trip payments are NON-REFUNDABLE Optional Insurance Each chaperone leader will have emergency info for your child when they are touring.

Cindy Oxendine is our trip contact Tour buses are chartered through Cross Country Trailways Transportation Students are encouraged to use their phones and take pictures. They must be responsible when using it. Paid Security on site where they will monitor all floors through the evenings.

Follow us on #dcmavs2018 Any vital or emergency information will be channeled through Mr. Eversole and sent home via Connect-Ed.

Medical Concerns We generally are able to accommodate all medical concerns but a form must be turned into our school nurse. This form is a special form just for trips Students cannot carry medicine with the exception of inhalers and epi-pens (form on file) All medicines will be distributed by either the school nurse or a county approved nurse.

Discipline Policy It is our goal to make this trip as educational and enjoyable as possible. Therefore we have created a discipline policy if students have issues before the trip or during the trip. This was the policy this past year and our policy will be somewhat similar: Removal from the trip (No Trip Refund) 5 After-School Detentions/ Classroom/ or Related Arts 3 In-School Suspensions 1 Out-of-School Suspension (administrative panel reviews all oss removals)

2017 dc fundraiser We will hold our DC fundraiser in early November.
Monies raised will directly go to your child's trip cost Typically 40% of sales.

Dc final payment info Payment for the trip is typically done in two payments. $100 deposit Remaining balance can be paid between December 11th to January 26th. Trip balance would be = 475 Balance may be reduced by fundraiser Online payments cannot be split
