Group activity – WTE sample evaluation
In your unit 2 groups Read through one of the sample WTE essays on the class website and answer the questions below What is the thesis or overall evaluation in the essay? Is it located in a suitable part of the essay for closed form prose? What criteria does the writer use to evaluate the podcast? Does the podcast meet or fail each of these criteria? Does the essay seem to follow a semi-formal writing style? How does it do this? What grade would you give the essay for each of the scoring criteria on the assignment sheet? Give a letter grade for each and a brief explanation.

In your new unit 3 groups Listen to the sample podcast walking tour and answer the following questions How would you break down and describe the types of content in the walking tour. Example: history, introductions, transitions, engaging information, etc. How does the podcast transition between different places within the location? What sounds are included in the podcast aside from Rick Steve’s voice? How does the podcast guide listeners through the area despite not having a visual component?
