2. ALIGNERS Northside Orthodontics
Aligners are changed every week (your frequency may change depending on what your Dr has requested)
You will start on aligner 1 and count your way up to your total

3. ALIGNER CARE Northside Orthodontics
Aligners are to be worn 22 hours a day
(unless instructed otherwise by the orthodontist).
Remove them when eating or drinking anything apart from water.
To keep the aligners clean, use a toothbrush with mild liquid soap and cold water.
Make sure your aligners are kept in a case when you are not wearing them.

6. The Tooth brushing Area
Please arrive a few minutes early to your appointment so you can brush your teeth at our tooth brushing area.
Follow the signs or ask the receptionists when you check in to find out where it is.
Toothbrushes and toothpaste will be provided and make sure to take them home with you.
Remember if you get 10/10 for your tooth brushing, you will go in our monthly movie ticket draw!

8. Chewies Northside Orthodontics
Chewies help close any air gaps between your teeth and the aligners.
Use them every day for minutes before bed to ensure the aligners are seated well while you sleep.
They are reusable, wash them with a mild soap after each biting session.
Reuse them several times until they lose their elasticity.

template to your next appointment!
Without your template the appointment will need to be rescheduled.

Appointments are every 8-12 weeks apart once the attachments are placed.
Please wear your current aligner to your check appointments.
Interproximal Reduction (IPR) will be completed at a certain stages by the orthodontist.
Please ask for additional chewies or elastics as needed.

11. IPR- Interproximal Reduction
What is IPR?
It is a simple procedure during which your orthodontist uses very precise tools to change the shape and size of your teeth, primarily on the sides where they touch each other. This is done for three reasons.
The upper or lower sets of teeth may be naturally the wrong size and don’t fit together well.
The shape of individual teeth may not allow them to lay next to each other ideally.
IPR is used in cases of mild crowding so that the removal of teeth can be avoided.

12. PROBLEMS and SOLUTIONS
Aligners may rub against your gums or lips - Wax
Buttons might come off, these are used for elastics – Comfort visit so it can be repaired
Losing your aligner – Move forward to the next aligner and notify us at your next visit
