4. P.E. P.E. takes place every Thursday
White polo shirts or T-shirts and shorts
Trainers are required for indoor and outdoor P.E.

5. Behaviour We praise positive behaviour
If behaviour in the class is not deemed to be acceptable, the child will sent to their Year Lead
If there is no improvement, then children will be sent to the phase lead.
Break time detentions are held centrally for children who require reflection time to think about their choices.
All behaviour is logged on SIMS.
Letters will be sent home for some behaviours or if a behaviour is repeated.
Your child's class teacher will inform you about behaviour concerns that they might have.

6. Healthy Lunches
Lady Margaret is a healthy school. This 
means that your children are encouraged to 
bring a healthy packed lunch.
This could include: a sandwich; a yoghurt; a 
piece of fruit; vegetable sticks etc.
Please make sure to discuss with your child 
the importance of eating a lunch! 
Football can wait!

Home learning will be given on a Tuesday and must be returned the following Monday.

8. Every week we teach a different Right Respecting article.
We teach children their rights
and our British values during Beliefs and Values lessons.

9. Diaries
Children have been given diaries. It is their responsibility to look after them and bring them into school everyday.
This is your first point of contact with the teacher.
Any additional home learning will be written in the diaries as and when it is required and is at the discretion of the set teacher.
Children are expected to bring their Reading Record into school every day.
Diaries must be brought in daily so that notes can be checked and so that the children can write messages down,
as requested by the teacher.

10. Homework
Teachers will be keeping a record of the reading and homework completed by each child.
Phone calls will be made home if homework is not handed in on time.
Homework Club will be on Monday lunchtimes - for those children without resources at home (e.g. the internet) as well as those children who fail to complete the homework.
Homework needs to be handed in every Monday and will be given out on a Tuesday.

11. Communication
If you have any concerns or queries regarding any aspect 
of school life, please contact your child's class teacher 
though the diary.
Quick queries may be resolved at the end of the school 
day and a meeting can be arranged if more time is 
required.
Please ensure that queries are addressed through the 
class teacher in the first instance, then Year Lead, Phase Lead, Assistant Head teacher, Deputy Head teacher and then finally the Head teacher.

12. Work of the Week
Once a fortnight each Year 3 class will select a piece of work to be shown during Achievement Assembly.
Achievement assembly is now on Thursday at 9.00 on a fortnightly basis.
The work deemed to be of outstanding quality, from those selected, will be displayed upon 'The Work of the Week' board outside the lower hall.

13. Reading For Pleasure
We will be expecting your child to 
read every night at home and have this signed.
Please make sure that your child is a member of the local library. 

Encourage your child to choose 
books of an appropriate level.

14. What you can do to help your child
- Read with your child and ask questions about what 
they have read.
- Use a dictionary for any unknown words.
- Encourage your child to read the essential reads
- Support with spellings.
- To learn and practice multiplication tables.
- Handwriting practice (see diary)
- Attend curriculum events at school where possible

15. Spellings
Children will be handed spellings every week and will be tested on them every Monday morning.

16. Friends of LMPS
Here at LMPS, we would love to increase parental involvement.
If you would be happy to support with 
fundraising activities, please speak to a member of the team, which includes: Mrs Mangat, Mrs Tank or Mrs Dhaliwal.

17. Trips
There will be no residential trips this year however there are a series of trips booked for which we will provide you with more details closer to the date.

18. Soft starts
Children are expected to be in class, seated and ready to 
learn at 8:50.
Soft start activities provide children with a chance to recap/ consolidate prior learning from the previous day.

19. Clubs and boosters
We will be selecting children to attend booster and 
reading clubs. This will be done at the discretion of the 
class teacher.
It is imperative children attend these clubs in order to 
help them progress.

20. E-Safety
It is very important to keep our children safe online as a result there should be careful 
monitoring at home when they are using the Internet.
No child should have a face book account, instagram, whatsapp or snap chat. There are age restrictions on all of these sites. Due to the anonymity of these sites children often are bullied and bully others which then causes problems at home and school taking away from learning time.
Grand theft auto is an 18+ game and should not be played by any pupils.
Pokemon Go is an exciting game however can lead to extra phone costs as it uses a lot of data. It can be addictive and play should be limited to a certain time.
Fortnite is a 12a game and therefore no primary aged children should be playing it.
Children should be playing games appropriate to their age.
Children should be logged off computers, gaming, Ipads, tablets and mobile phones by 8 
pm. This then allows children to wind down and calm their minds before bed. Further to this, it ensures children are ready to learn the next day.
