Homework: Friday 4th January 2019
Learn at least the first verse of William Wordsworth’s poem, ‘Daffodils’. We have looked at the way he used personification to give the flowers human characteristics. Your Task: Write an extra verse using great description – can you challenge yourself to add similes or metaphors (just like we did in class), to describe the daffodils. Challenge:: Write two extra verses using personification, and imagery. Extra Challenge: You must keep the same pattern as Wordsworth’s poem; i.e. same rhyming pattern Daffodils I wandered lonely as a cloud That floats on high o'er vales and hills, When all at once I saw a crowd, A host, of golden daffodils; Beside the lake, beneath the trees, Fluttering and dancing in the breeze. Continuous as the stars that shine And twinkle on the milky way, They stretched in never-ending line Along the margin of a bay: Ten thousand saw I at a glance, Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.
