Repeating Decimals and Rounding
Target: Convert fractions to repeating decimals. Round numbers to a given place value.

Example 1 Convert each fraction to a decimal.

Rounding Look at the digit one place to the right of the place value
you need to round. If the digit is: 0, 1, 2, 3 or 4: The digit in the place value to which you are rounding stays the same. 5, 6, 7, 8 or 9: Add one to the digit in the place value to which you are rounding.

Example 2 Round 2.4 to the nearest hundredth.
Underline number in hundredth place: … Look at digit one place to the right: Round down since 4 is less than ≈ 2.44
