They diagnose and treat visual problems and manage diseases, injuries, and other disorders of the eyes.
They also prescribe eyeglasses or normal lenses  as needed.

3. Jobs Ophthalmologists: Specialist in medical and surgical eye disease.
Opticians: Prepares correctional lenses according to an Ophthalmologist or Optometrists prescribtions.
Optometric technician: perform a variety of tasks to assist the Optometrists in eye examinations.

Take the Optometry Admissions Test (OAT)
Optometry school takes 4 years
Some complete a year residency
