Gravity and Motion

2. Gravity attracts all objects towards each other
Gravity attracts all objects towards each other. Newton’s Universal Law of Gravitation states that every object in the universe attracts every other object.
The strength of the force of gravity between two objects depends on two factors: the mass of the object and the distance between them.

3. Gravity, mass and Weight
Mass The amount of matter in an object.
Weight The force of gravity on an object.
Gravity and Distance The force of gravity decreases as the distance increases
Orbital motion The reason that the moon remains in orbit around the Earth is because of inertia and gravity, combining these two forces creates orbital motion.
