CHAPTER 3 LESSON 2 SYSTEM INTERACTIONS
2
3.2 INFORMATION
4
A. WATER CYCLE The continuous movement of water on, above, and below Earth’s surface.
5
A. WATER CYCLE The energy to move water and allow it to change state …
6
A. WATER CYCLE … from a liquid to a gas or a solid ultimately comes from the Sun.
8
EVAPORATION The process by which a liquid, such as water, changes into a gas.
9
EVAPORATION About 90% of the water vapor in Earth’s atmosphere enters through evaporation from the oceans and other bodies of water.
11
TRANSPIRATION About 10% of the water enters the atmosphere through transpiration.
12
TRANSPIRATION Plants release water vapor through leaves
14
CELLULAR RESPIRATION Water vapor also enters the atmosphere through cellular respiration
15
CELLULAR RESPIRATION takes place in many cells and produces water and carbon dioxide.
16
CONDENSATION As water rises through the troposphere and cools, through the process of condensation
17
CONDENSATION it changes from a gas to a liquid.
18
CONDENSATION when the tiny drops of water come together, they form clouds.
20
PRECIPITATION moisture that falls to Earth’s surface.
21
SURFACE RUNOFF When water flows off of the land and into bodies of water.
