Easy Steps to Creating a Unique Repeated Motif Design to Combine with Lettering
1. Go to Google and search for asian motifs (or chinese coins, flowers, birds, koi fish, fans, etc) 2. Do some individual sketches of 5 motifs which appeal to you in some way. 3. Now create a unique design by repeating some or all of the motifs and adding other elements to bring the design together. (like wavy lines, ribbons, etc.) 4. Decide on the layout of your scroll by incorporating your motif design and the Chinese characters for your name. Decide where to place the characters and the design so that all elements work together.
