Language Arts 8 Mrs. Naugle and Mrs. Snudden Absentee Policy * YES, WE DID SOMETHING IMPORTANT WHILE YOU WERE ABSENT. It is the student’s responsibility to check the class Realtime and / or Google Classroom to find any assignments missed. *A student has the amount of days absent to make-up missed work. If a quiz was administered on a day a student was absent, the quiz must be made up on the first day the student returns. If previously assigned work was due on the day of the absence, the work is due on the first day the student returns. *If a student has Network, band, a field trip, or another obligations during this class period, he or she is expected to report to class in the morning to collect work that will be missed that day. This is NOT an absence; homework must be done on time. Late / Incomplete Work Our expectation is that ALL assignments be completed in their entirety. Incomplete work will result in a zero for the assignment. *Work will be collected on a daily basis unless told otherwise. *Homework will be posted online daily (subject to change) as well as on the classroom blackboard. * Printer and Internet issues are not an excuse for late work. Technology Chromebooks will be used in Language Arts. Class assignments, projects, and assessments will be completed digitally through the Google Classroom. Each student must sign into the assignment of every assignment issued through Google Classroom so the teachers can monitor student progress. Students are expected to abide by all school and district digital safety rules and guidelines. Failure to do so will result in said student being banned from technology while in Language Arts. Google Classroom code: Plagiarism Cheating Plagiarism is the taking ideas and writings of another and passing them off as one’s own. In this class, plagiarism includes... 1. turning in another’s work as one’s own. 2. copying work from a friend before class (or while in another class). 3. including a source but failing to cite it. 4. copying an author’s exact words and passing them off as one’s own. Students caught plagiarizing will be given a ZERO for the assignment. * The teachers will notify the administration and contact parents if cheating / plagiarism is suspected. * The student will be given a zero for that particular test or assignment. I, ________________________________________, have read and understand the rules and expectations for Language Arts. I acknowledge that it is my responsibility to contact my teacher if I have any questions or concerns. I know that this syllabus, assignments, calendars, and resources are available to me on Realtime and the Google Classroom at any time. I know that assignments can be submitted digitally at any time and that printer/computer/flash drive issues are not an excuse for late work. I also understand that Mrs. Naugle and Mrs. Snudden are available for extra help on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays until 3 P.M. with a parent note only.
