Notes Are also referred to as speaker notes in PowerPoint®
Can be stored in the presentation for easy reference speaker notes are visible only on the user’s monitor during the presentation and not shown to the audience Notes can be thought of as extra information which does not need to be on a slide, but could be useful for a user to have as a reference or provide additional information to talk about when giving the presentation. Notes can also be used as reminders of points which need to be stressed in the presentation.

Notes Can be entered by typing in the Notes Pane when in Normal View or Notes Page View

Notes Pane Is a box which appears beneath each slide
Contains prompt text which states, Click to add notes

To hide the Notes pane, click either location again to unselect it.
Can be viewed by: clicking the Notes button on the status bar clicking Notes in the Show group on the View tab To hide the Notes pane, click either location again to unselect it. To make the Notes Pane a different size, click the top line of the pane and drag it to the desired size.

Notes Can be viewed in the Notes Pane while presenting in Presenter View

Presenter View Can be used by checking the Use Presenter View checkbox in the Monitors group of the Slide Show tab by default, Presenter view is set to show when a slide show is run, however, if a user has unchecked the checkbox, it will not be shown

Notes Pages Are visible in Notes Page View Consist of:
this can be opened by clicking Notes Page in the Presentation Views group on the View tab Consist of: slide thumbnail notes pane Each slide has its own notes page, even if there are not any notes associated with the slide. Changes made in Notes Page View to the notes will be reflected in the Notes Pane in Normal View.

Pictures and objects can only be added when in Notes Page View.
Allows a user to: add data such as charts or pictures to notes pages Pictures and objects can only be added when in Notes Page View. Pictures and objects added in Notes Page View appear only in Notes Page View and on printed notes pages, not in Normal View.

Notes Page Layout Can be formatted by making changes to the Notes Master this can be viewed by clicking Notes Master in the Master Views group on the View tab

Notes Master View Contains the Notes Master tab on the Ribbon before the Home tab

Notes Master Tab Contains the following groups: Page Setup
holds commands to change the notes page orientation and slide size Placeholders consists of commands to add various placeholders to the notes pages which can be edited

Notes Master Tab Contains the following groups: Edit Theme Background
holds command to save the current theme in this view Background consists of commands to change the colors, fonts, effects and background styles of the Notes Pane Close can be used to close out of the view

Notes Master Can be used to specify which placeholders appear on the notes pages by checking or unchecking the checkboxes in the Placeholders group on the Notes Master tab

Notes Pages Can be printed by choosing the Print option in Backstage View, selecting Notes Pages beneath Settings and clicking Print
