4. Spread of Church
Churches are often seen as the pillar of the community
Evangelists like John Wesley (Methodist church) helped to develop church in colonial Georgia
Baptist along with Methodist grew due to Camp Meeting revivals and Circuit Preachers
Church Missions even extended to slaves leading to many African American Baptist and Methodist today

5. Georgia’s third capital
Population was also spreading along with churches
Population was originally concentrated on the coast but started to move inland
