Paul insisted that he was not reliable 2. Their contention required them to separate a. Barnabas went to Cyprus with John Mark b. PAUL AND SILAS BEGIN THEIR JOURNEY 15:40-41 1. Paul selected Silas to accompany him Ac 15:40 a. He was one of the two men sent by Jerusalem with the letter regarding circumcision Ac 15:22-23,27 b. IN DERBE AND LYSTRA 16: Where Paul healed a lame man, and was stoned, on his first journey Ac 14: Paul desires Timothy to go with him Ac 16:1-3 a. Whose mother was a Jew, his father a Greek 2Ti 1:5; 3:15-16 b. He had a good reputation among the brethren c. Whom Paul had circumcised in deference to the Jews 3. IN PHRYGIA AND GALATIA 16: They went throughout the region of Phrygia and Galatia Ac 16:6 2. This likely included the churches in Iconium, and Antioch of Pisidia 3. IN MYSIA AND TROAS 16:8-10 1. Near Mysia they were not permitted by the Spirit to head north toward Bithynia - Ac 16:8 2. They arrive in Troas - Ac 16:9-10 a. Where Paul has a vision, a man of Macedonia asking him to help them b. Understood as the Lord sending them in that direction c. IN THESSALONICA 17: Passing through Amphipolis and Apollonia, they come to Thessalonica - Ac 17:1 2. Paul visits the synagogue and reasons with the Jews for three Sabbaths - Ac 17:2-4 a. Proclaiming Jesus as the Christ b. Some were persuaded, also a great multitude of Greeks 3. Unbelieving Jews gather a mob - Ac 17: Paul and Silas sent away by the brethren - Ac 17:10 5. We learn also that… a. He supported himself, aided by the Philippians - 1Th 2:9; 2Th 3:6-10; Php 4:16 b. The dedicated nature of his ministry - 1Th 2:1-10 c. IN CORINTH 18:1-17 1. Paul arrives and lives with Aquila and Priscilla - Ac 18:1-4 a. He worked together with them as a tent-maker - 1Co 9:6-15 b. He also received support from Philippi - 2Co 11:7-10; Php 4:15 c. He reasoned with the Jews every Sabbath - 1Co 2:1-5 2. Silas and Timothy arrive from Macedonia - Ac 18:5; 2Co 1:19 a. With good news regarding the church at Thessalonica - 1Th 3:6-7 b. 3. Paul leaves the synagogue, and preaches next door - Ac 18: His success in Corinth - Ac 18:8; 1Co 1:14-16 a. Crispus, ruler of the synagogue, believes with his household, and is baptized b. Many of the Corinthians believe and are baptized c. Gaius is baptized, who later becomes host of the church - Ro 16:23 d. The household of Stephanas is baptized - 1Co 16:15 5. Paul's vision from the Lord - Ac 18:9-11 a. So Paul remains a year and six months b. During which he writes Second Thessalonians - 2Th 1:1 6. In Ephesus - Ac 18:19-20 B. FROM EPHESUS TO JERUSALEM... 1. Anxious to get to Jerusalem in time for the feast - Ac 18:21 2. Sailed from Ephesus to Caesarea - Ac 18:21-22 3. Went "up" to Jerusalem and visited the church - Ac 18:22 C. FROM JERUSALEM TO ANTIOCH... 1. He went "down" to Antioch - Ac 18:22 2. On this second journey, Paul was able to Encourage the churches in Syria, Cilicia, Derbe, Lystra, Iconium, and Antioch Establish churches in Philippi, Thessalonica, Berea, Athens, and Corinth It was a journey that saw the beginning relationships Silas and Timothy The physician Luke, the brethren at Philippi (Clement, Euodia, Syntyche) Aquila and Priscilla, the brethren at Corinth (Gaius, Crispus, the household of Stephanas) Wrote some books 1 & 2 Thessalonians Possibly Galatians Num 27:18-20 (18)  So the LORD said to Moses, "Take Joshua the son of Nun, a man in whom is the Spirit, and lay your hand on him;(19)  and have him stand before Eleazar the priest and before all the congregation, and commission him in their sight.(20)  "You shall put some of your authority on him, in order that all the congregation of the sons of Israel may obey him. 1Ti 5:22 (22)  Do not lay hands upon anyone too hastily and thereby share responsibility for the sins of others; keep yourself free from sin.

We have no Biblical evidence that Paul left Rome after his first imprisonment and went West to Spain, but we do have a few ancient texts that either imply or assert Paul did go to Spain. Clement of Rome Possibly mentioned, “Indeed, true companion, I ask you also to help these women who have shared my struggle in the cause of the gospel, together with Clement also and the rest of my fellow workers, whose names are in the book of life” (Php. 4:3). 25 Paul’s Death 3rd century historian Eusebius wrote: “After defending himself the Apostle was again set on the ministry of preaching…coming a second time to the same city [Paul] suffered martyrdom under Nero.
