1 Another Great Day to Serve

2 Accepting Your Assignment
God created us for a life of good works (Eph. 2:10) Regardless of your job or career, you are called to “full-time” Christian service We are here to serve and give like Jesus (Mt. 20:28)

3 Shaped for Serving God God has “shaped” each one of us to do certain things God planned every day and aspect of our lives before we were born (Ps. 139:16) God gives every believer spiritual gifts to be used in ministry

4 I Corinthians 2:14 “Whoever does not have the Spirit cannot receive the gifts that come from God’s Spirit.”

5 I Corinthians 12:7 “A spiritual gift is given to each of us as a means of helping the entire church.”

6 Applying Your Abilities
Your spiritual gifts are given to you after you are saved; your natural abilities were given to you at birth Your abilities are a strong indication of what God wants you to do with your life

7 Experiences = Ministry Opportunities
Family Experiences Educational Experiences Vocational Experiences Spiritual Experiences Ministry Experiences Painful Experiences

8 Painful Experiences Your greatest ministry may come out of your greatest hurt God allows painful experiences to equip us to minister to others (2 Cor. 1:4) The experiences you have resented or regretted are the ones God can use to help others

9 “Experience is not what happens to you
“Experience is not what happens to you. It is what you do with what happens to you.” – Aldous Huxley

10 A Heart for Service Anyone can be a servant; all it requires is character “Whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone – especially to those in the family of faith.” (Gal. 6:10) God is more interested in why we do something than in what we do.

11 “The only really happy people are those who have learned how to serve
“The only really happy people are those who have learned how to serve.” – Dr. Albert Schweitzer
