A Note from the Teacher
It’s hard to believe we have already been in school for a week and a half! (Where does the time go?) We have been very busy learning procedures and getting to know each other! 
Week of 8/29 – 9/2
What’s Happening in...
Reading: We will be reading the Lesson 2 story in our Wonders textbook called “Yoon and the Bracelet.” We will discuss what traditions teach us about cultures. Our comprehension skill is Sequencing, and our comprehension strategy is Visualizing.
Language Arts: We will be learning the four types of sentences.
Spelling: Lesson 2. Lists will be on the back of the newsletters, and in your 3rd grader’s Green Folder (on Monday).
Math: We will be learning the commutative property of multiplication, and different models that represent the concept of multiplication.
Social Studies: We will
be learning about
communities.
Announcements
Birthdays: If your 3rd grader has a birthday during the school year, you may send (or drop off) any commercially wrapped treats for the class. We will celebrate summer birthdays the last week of school.
Reading Counts will begin in September.
Scholastic Book Orders: Please turn in any orders for books to me. I will not give a due date,, but will place the order when I have enough. Remember to use our classroom code (Q6YXD) so we can earn points to build our classroom library!
Textbook Logins for the online programs for Reading and Math will be sent home sometime next week.
