EOC Prep Quadrilaterals
2
Kite Kite: a quadrilateral with exactly two distinct pairs of congruent consecutive sides.
3
Kite Conjectures The nonvertex angles of a kite are congruent. The diagonals of a kite are perpendicular.
4
Trapezoid A quadrilateral with exactly one pair of parallel sides.
5
Angle A and D = congruent. Angle B and C= congruent.
Trapezoid Angle A and D = congruent. Angle B and C= congruent. Angle A and B = 180. Angle C and D = 180.
6
Trapezoid Midsegment Conjecture
The midsegment of a trapezoid is parallel to the bases and is equal in length to the average of the lengths of the bases.
7
Properties of Parallelograms
Parallelogram: 2 sets of non-consecutive parallel sides. The opposite angles of a parallelogram are congruent.
8
Special Parallelograms
Rhombus: two pairs of parallel sides and 4 congruent sides. Rectangle: two pairs of parallel sides and 4 congruent angles. Square: Two pairs of parallel sides, 4 congruent sides and 4 congruent angles.
9
Rhombus
10
Rectangle The diagonals of a rectangle are congruent and bisect each other. The angles are NOT bisected.
11
Square The diagonals of a square are congruent, perpendicular and bisect each other. The angles are bisected.
