3. What is Soil ? Soil makes up the outermost layer of our planet.
Topsoil is the most productive soil layer.
Soil has varying amounts of organic matter (living and dead organisms), minerals, and nutrients.

Weathering is the breaking down of rocks, soil and minerals as well as artificial materials through contact with the Earth's atmosphere, biota and waters

What is it?
It is a process where soil erosion stops when the transported particles finally fall out of the transporting medium and settle on a surface. It is the laying down of sediment, which are transported by wind, water, or even ice.
