3. NL has begun to use the Inter-hospital Transfer Program for blood components and blood products other than RBCs, to utilize these products before expiry, increasing the total saving attributed to the Inter-hospital Transfer Program
PBCP implemented a policy on Submitting Daily Inventory to CBS. It is t mandatory for hospital blood banks to submit inventory levels to CBS by 11 AM daily. Health Sciences Center in St. John’s was selected for the pilot project for automatic inventory replenishment as a result of consistently entering daily inventory levels prior to the policy implementation.
