2. Prodcom data
Following the introduction of Prodcom codes based on NACE Rev. 2 for 2008 data, Eurostat has set up two parallel sets of data for all years:
data using codes based on NACE Rev 1.1
for 1995 to 2007 the files contain the original data based on NACE Rev. 1.1 as supplied by the reporting countries. For 2008 onwards the files contain data that has been converted where possible from the data based on NACE Rev. 2.
data using codes based on NACE Rev 2
for 2008 onwards the files contain the original data based on NACE Rev. 2 as supplied by the reporting countries. For 1995 to 2007 the files contain data that has been converted where possible from the data based on NACE Rev. 1.1.

3. Prodcom data is available on-line in 2 forms:
Prodcom excel spreadsheets
It only refers to production data
Europroms database form
It refers to the combination of production and external trade data:
The data is displayed by Prodcom heading, and the equivalent CN headings are aggregated to provide the data equivalent to the Prodcom heading.
The monthly trade is also aggregated to match the annual Prodcom statistics.
For individual countries the trade with all partners, both Intra & Extra, is aggregated to provide the total external trade for the country.
For EU totals, only Extra partners are aggregated, so that trade with the rest of the world is reported.

5. Statistics Explained
Statistics Explained is part of the official Eurostat website presenting all possible statistical topics in an easily understandable way. Together, the articles make up everyone's encyclopedia of European statistics, completed by a statistical glossary clarifying all terms used and by numerous links to further information and the very latest data and metadata, a portal for occasional and regular users alike.
A Prodcom section will be soon added to the current topics presented under Statistics Explained.
