Objective of the task: Each of the 4 groups will draw suggestions and recommendations towards identifying practical strategies for strengthening regional statistical cooperation or address some of the current issues which will be included in the PARIS21 paper and will be used to inform the preparation of the RSDS guidelines.

GROUP 1 (Room CC13) Specific recommendations on the role of regional bodies in SDG monitoring: How to balance SDG commitment of countries while still maintaining comparability and relevance of data at the regional level? How can regional capacity complement national monitoring initiatives? What ways national priorities would be influenced by the range of regional indicators on SDGs?

GROUP 2 (MB S034) Recommended innovative approaches to regional statistical challenges What specific examples of common regional solutions could be adopted to address challenges related to data quality (accessibility, comparability, consistency harmonization, standardization)? How could we better transfer innovations from other domains into statistics to address regional challenges (in terms of organisation, coordination, and adaptability)?
