Designing or Analysing a Training Programme

There are two main components to be considered before looking at a programme.

1. The Individual We need to look at the following aspects of the individual: Age Fitness Levels (resting heart rate) Previous training or experience Lifestyle

2. What they are training for!
We need to look at the following aspects: The activity or sport The energy system used for this The muscle groups that need developing The most suited methods of training

Points to Remember! Each training session should have a warm up and warm down to prevent pulling muscles (chewing gum) When beginning training an athlete should always build a general base of fitness before they specialise in their training. Without this injuries and poor technique are more likely. Train in the correct heart rate zone Be specific!!!
