2. EV3 Brick Hardware Firmware is stored in Flash Memory
Processor and Memory chips
Firmware is stored in Flash Memory

3. EV3 Flash Memory EV3 Flash Memory is 16MB in size (~ 16 min. of music)
Contents can be viewed from ‘Project’ window
Firmware takes up 11MB which includes:
EV3 system files
built-in applications (apps)
sample program, sound and graphic files
Deleting unused programs and files frees up space

4. EV3 Flash Memory
Let’s take a look at the EV3 Flash Memory available to you:
On your computer, in EV3-G, click the ‘File’ pull down
Click ‘New Projects’.
In the lower right hand corner of the screen you will see…
Brick Information:
Current version of firmware
EV3 is the name of this EV3 Brick. Change the name of your Brick here.
Battery Level
Memory Bar - the amount of flash memory used
Memory Browser - file management. Please click on this button.

5. EV3 Flash Memory Memory Browser screen
provides overview of memory use on EV3 Brick.
used to:
transfer programs, sounds, graphics and other files between EV3 Brick and a computer, and
copy and delete files that are already on EV3 Brick.

6. EV3 Flash Memory Now click on Applications.
