Charles Dickens ( ) Focused on lower and middle classes Descriptions of urban poor and brutality of life at the time was incredibly realistic… Had elements of romanticism as well (just to confuse APEURO students)

“I have never seen either angels or goddesses, so I am not interested in painting them.” Millet ( ) Focused on rural life Appreciated nature (sort of romantic) but his paintings were not romantic (wait and see…)
