RNA There are three types of RNA in protein sythesis:
messenger RNA (mRNA) Single-stranded copy of original DNA strand Carries code for more than one gene transfer RNA (tRNA) Single-stranded Acceptor stem attaches to amino acid Anticodon loop contains complement of mRNA codon ribosomal RNA (rRNA) Single-stranded made of 2 subunits that make a functional ribosome ‘Reads’ the mRNA and assembles proteins RNA

Protein Synthesis Protein Synthesis involves two stages:
Transcription – mRNA is synthesized from DNA template Translation – protein is synthesized from mRNA template Protein Synthesis
