(A) Southward migratory routes of two adult streaked shearwaters from Awashima Island, Japan (star), to the wintering areas (until December 31): the Tsugaru route (green points) and the Tsushima/Korea route (pink points). Adults flew around Honshu Island (Honshu is approximately 1300 km long), with discontinuous mountain ranges rising to several thousand meters.
