Advanced Honors Diploma

CSN Academic Honor Award
Must have been enrolled at CSNHS for four semesters Must have completed at least 33 CSN credits No failing grades or withdraws Cumulative CSN GPA of 3.5 or higher Powder blue cord

University of Nevada Admission Requirements
Applicants must have graduated from an approved high school with a minimum 3.0 (weighted) GPA in the following required courses (13 units): English 4 credits Math 3 credits (Algebra and higher) Social Studies 3 credits Natural Science 3 credits (2 lab sciences to include Biology) 24 semester units of college classes with a 2.5 GPA can also be used for admission. AA, AB, or AS degree from CSN provides automatic admission. SAT and or ACT test scores are required for admission!

Millennium Scholarship
Must be a graduate from a Nevada high school. Must have a 3.25 weighted or un-weighted GPA. Must have been a NV resident for two years of high school. Millennium equals $40 to $60 per credit at College of Southern Nevada. Millennium equals $60 per credit at Nevada State College. Millennium equals $80 per credit at NV Universities.

Additional Millennium Scholarship Policies
Millennium Scholarship funding is limited to a maximum of 12 credits per semester, and will not cover remedial courses. Must complete the core curriculum as defined by the scholarship policies: 4 credits English 4 credits Math (including Algebra II) 3 credits Natural Science 3 credits Social Science & History

NCAA Eligibility Center
If you intend to participate in Division I or II college athletics, you must register with the NCAA Initial- Eligibility Clearinghouse. Eligibility is based on test scores, grades, and required core courses taken. Scholarships Most of the scholarships are for seniors.

Pre-Registration Registration for summer classes should open the first week of April The Fall class schedule for CSN should become available in April Do not OVERDO Summer classes remember that 4 week classes are still covering FOUR MONTHS of material I recommend no more than 10 credits General College Advising Session with Kayla White on Friday, March 16 at noon in C133 If you are working on completing your Associate Degree, you should plan on meeting with David or Kayla (CSN Advisors) to touch base about college classes before May 1 If you need to retake placement tests you should do so before May 1 BIOL 101 will no longer grant HONORS weight but still counts for HS science credit. CHEM 108 has been added to the approved high school science list BIOL 189 and 196 now require ENG 101 and MAY ALSO REQUIRE MATH 120 or higher as prerequisites

Peer Mentors Sign up for at least one one-hour shift during our Open Lab registration Sessions on May 10th and 11th from 1-4 PM Be available via phone or during the summer to your assigned mentees to provide guidance or answer questions I will also need volunteers at our Orientation Sessions on May 1 and 3 from 3 – 5 PM You will be expected to provide POSITIVE and ACCURATE guidance You will most likely be assigned 3-5 mentees and can make special requests if you know incoming students.
