The Respiratory System involves a GAS EXCHANGE in the lungs.
What does it mean to “exchange” something?
Name the gases that are exchanged in the lungs (think about what we talked about in the circulatory system)
Name the type of blood vessel that allows these gasses to diffuse in and out of it.

ALVEOLI: little sacs – look like “grape-clusters” that perform GAS EXCHANGE.
Gas Exchange:
Oxygen in alveoli diffuses into capillaries
Carbon Dioxide diffuses from capillaries into alveoli
