Personal Information Most documentation submitted to the Austin Office requires personal information: Full Legal Name – reference to identify duplicates ID Number – required to speed up processing/eliminate crediting errors Last 4 digits of SSN – reference to identify duplicates Date of Birth – reference to identify duplicates and to identify “Junior” firefighters.

Track and report training for the department Submit Progress Report annually Serve as a contact at the department for Certification issues Attend the required Certification Workshop on a timely basis personal information “What have I gotten myself into?”

Track and report training for the department SFFMA Online is a free program available to departments with their membership in SFFMA to track firefighter training objectives. All coordinators have access to the program whether they choose to use it or not. Coordinators log in using personal ID#.

Track and report training for the department SFFMA does still accept handwritten reports and those generated through other programs (Excel, FireHouse, Fire Programs, etc.) for now. Beginning in 2017 all training must be submitted through SFFMA Online. Regardless of format, all reports must meet the same baseline requirements.

Submit Progress Report annually “Progress Report” is just a training summary Reports are due by January 31st each year. Reports are cumulative. Report is a baseline requirement for determining the department’s participation status. Not filing the report will delay certificate issuance. If a department is new to the certification program, then their first report is due January 31st the following year. Reports are required every year!

Serve as a contact at the department for Certification issues One person hears one answer; five people hear five answers. SFFMA certification staff relies heavily on , so please be sure to provide a working and regularly checked address. If Austin staff receives requests for information from your department, they generally copy the coordinator on responses.
