Personal data must be used for specific purposes, not secondary uses
Example—Credit card information
Privacy and Secure laws are effective against companies using information without consent

4. How might your information be abused?
To charge bank accounts for something you do not know about because they have your credit card information stored from the last transaction
Can be received by government for specific reasons without consent
Employees of companies can copy information for personal gain
Hackers

5. How can you protect yourself?
Watch out for non-secure phone lines or web sites
Do not necessarily have to give personal credit card information or other information to companies
