Constructing Angle Bisectors
On patty paper, draw a large angle. Label it PQR. Fold your patty paper, so that 𝑄𝑃 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑄𝑅 coincide. Crease the fold. Unfold your patty paper. Draw a ray with endpoint Q along the crease. Does the ray bisect ∠𝑃𝑄𝑅? How can you tell? Place a point A on 𝑄𝑅 . Compare the distance from point A to each of the two sides of the angle. Remember “distance” means shortest distance.

Angle Bisector Conjecture
Conjecture: If a point is on the bisector of an angle, then it is equidistant from the sides of angle.

Constructing an Angle Bisector with a Compass
Take notes while watching this video clip. I will play the clip twice. In your notebook develop a clear and concise summary explaining how to construct an angle bisector using a compass. The summary must be at least 7 sentences. You may also wish to include pictures/sketches of the process. Pretend your target audience is a 10th grade Geometry student that was absent for the lesson.
