Coding Students in ASISTS
Funding Codes: Determine during Intake Process, which funding source to assign to students After student has accrued 12 contact hours and a valid pre test, no changes to funding codes should be made
4
Coding Students in ASISTS
Preference is to code the Instructional Offering (class) with the funding code(s) that support that class If students are enrolled and NO funding code is assigned to individual students then: All students in the class will be counted under ALL funding codes assigned to that class All students would then be held to the higher rigor of the National Reporting System if either WIOA or EPE is assigned to the class
5
Example: ABC Instructional Offering Funding Codes attached WIOA and ALE Sally Sitsalot enrolled with no funding code George Washington enrolled with no funding code Amy Watson enrolled and tagged as ALE funded WIOA reports will include Sally and George Both will be held to the higher rigor of NRS ALE report will include Sally, George, and Amy However, Sally & George will need to demonstrate MSG under NRS rules, while Amy will go under NYRS
6
Automatic Exits Automatic Exiting is the source of concern, not PoPs!
Entering literacy data on a monthly basis will resolve these issues
7
Automatic Exits Student records (ISRFs), Instructional Offerings, Instructional Activity (attendance) must be entered on a monthly basis
8
Automatic Exiting Reminder:
No attendance recorded for a student for three (3) consecutive months Student is auto-exited by ASISTS on the last day of the last month where attendance occurred
9
Automatic Exits Attendance must be entered into ASISTS on a monthly basis Example: Attendance from September should have been entered into ASISTS by October 31st. On November 1st, students from July, August, and September will be exited if there was no attendance recorded in ASISTS
