Electoral College Article & Polling location
Read the Article “Electoral College 101” on Google Classroom and answer the attached questions When you finish, go to the Google Classroom announcement and go to the link provided to find your personal polling place and voters ballot Leave this tab open… YOU WILL NEED IT LATER IN CLASS!!! Work on Blueprint or Political Party Brains once done with both

50/50: Group 1- At the front with me, finishing the notes from yesterday All you need is something to take notes on Group 2- In the hall writing a letter to your parents, reminding them to vote Need Chromebook, envelope, writing utensil, and blank sheet of paper DO NOT SEAL ENVELOPE WHEN DONE

Letter to Your Parents Must include:
Properly addressed envelope (minus the stamp) Proper salutation 3 body paragraphs 1- Why it’s important for them to vote and where their polling place is 2- Pick any race and explain to your parents who you would vote for and why 3- Pick a proposed NC Amendment and explain to your parents how you would vote A proper closing (Sincerely/Love, etc) Your signature (in cursive)

Election Process: Step 1: Voter registration Step 2: Go to polling place Precinct- district in which you are able to vote based off your address Polling place- specific place you vote Step 3: Check in

Step 4: Cast your vote Split ticket- vote for each position individually and will have a mix of Democrats/Republicans/ Independents Straight ticket- select the party you want to vote for and automatically fills out ballot for all the party selections

Is the President elected only by the people? NO!!! Final decision is made by the Electoral College Must win 270 of 538 electoral votes to win What if no one wins?
