Catholics and protestants viewed Jews and Muslims as heretics They were forced to convert or leave Spain (Muslims-1500, Jews-1492) Jews resettled southern and eastern Europe Some converted to Christianity

Isolation of the jews: Cum Nimis Absurdum states that “all Jews should live solely in one and the same location, or if that is not possible, in two or three or as many as are necessary, which are to be contiguous and separated completely from the dwellings of Christians. These places are to be designated by us in our city and by our magistrates in the other cities, holdings, and territories. They should have one entry and so, too, one exit.” Which means that they need to be completely separated from Christians and all in one place
